Strong is the new skinny

In October 2015, Empire Gym decided to change focus and reduce the number of studio fitness classes in favour of more gym activities, with a focus on strength and functional training. The move prompted a chorus of opinions and comments from the local fitness community who, despite our assurances, were concerned that the gym would become a male dominated strength gym.
